There is so much positive action taking place within Birmingham and beyond from a whole range of organisations including voluntary, public, private and educational sectors. Inspire has provided the opportunity for several organisations to combine their expertise in order to provide a one-stop portal giving information on services and support available to survivors and their carers. This has been made possible by the European Social Fund (read more about what Inspire is aiming to achieve) It seemed that people who have survived stroke or brain injury and their carers had no central point to find out where to seek help and what to expect. Often people were left on their own, feeling helpless and abandoned with lives turned upside down and the future looking bleak. This site seeks to bridge the gap. You are welcome to search this site and read about rehabilitation activities and programmes, counselling and personal support, vocational training and job opportunities. Although we are focusing upon the Birmingham branches of the partner organisations, most are national and information is relevant to all visitors to the site wherever they live in the U.K. Inspire is a living site and will grow as people feed back with suggestions and information of other opportunities.
