Meetings held at:  Cocks Moor Woods Leisure Centre, Alcester Road South, Kings Heath, Birmingham,  between 7:30pm-9:30pm

Exercise Classes, Cox Moor Woods Leisure Centre.Exercise Classes

Aimed at the over 50's, there are two exercise classes held on a Thursday between 10.00-11.15 and 11.30-12.45.  The group is funded by South Birmingham PCT, and therefore is only available to people in South Birmingham.  The system for referral is via occupational therapists and/or physiotherapists so if you are interested please talk to your therapists now

Different Strokes

'Different Strokes helps stroke survivors of under retirement age to optimise their recovery, take control of their own lives and regain as much independence as possible by offering 'rehabilitative services', information and advice'.

Different Strokes if for the under 60's and it runs a national network of exercise classes, a StrokeLine to connect young stroke survivors and produces a regular newsletter.

Birmingham Carers Forum

The Forums are open public meetings and can be attended by any member of the public with an interest in carers or caring.  The forum has a regular attendance from senior managers from Social Services, health and Education.  These representatives are there to answer any questions at the meeting - or they will return with the answer at the next forum.

West Midlands Special Needs Transport.

The West Midlands Special Needs Transport (WMSNT) provides a range of transport and training services intended to improve the Quality of Life of people who find it difficult or impossible to use conventional public transport.

It is the World's second largest provider of Dial-a-Ride services and also runs specialist transport and training for Local Authorities and Health Authorities.

Blue Badge

The Blue Badge Scheme gives parking concessions for people with severe walking difficulties who travel as either drivers or passengers, registered blind people and also people with severe upper limb disabilities who regularly drive a vehicle but cannot turn the steering wheel by hand.

The Scheme is meant to help only those people with very severe, permanent disabilities. People with temporary or intermittent difficulties, such as a broken leg, will not qualify for the scheme.
